Our team recognizes that strong community-university partnerships require a bidirectional flow of information, from communities to researchers, and from researchers to communities.
We provide support for sharing information through the following methods:
Community Conversations
A meeting with community members, experts and stakeholders to identify community priorities and understand shared goals for a research project
- The research team will identify the community of interest, which may be individual community members, groups or coalitions, institutions, policymakers or others
- CERAP will collaborate with the research team to understand goals/aims and develop questions for the conversation
- CERAP will coordinate dates, times and the meeting location, and will facilitate/moderate the conversation
- The research team is responsible for covering costs associated with room rentals, food/snacks and participant compensation (if applicable)
- Groups sizes typically range from small (3-8 people), to large (15+); large groups will be facilitated using World Cafe methods
- Conversations may range from 1-2 hours
Data Walks
An interactive, visual method of sharing local community data
Community Resource Audits/Asset Mapping
A rigorous process of measuring micro- and macro-level community elements that the research team defines as research priorities; community members are highly involved in identifying assets and other elements
Visualizations/Infographics
Share research findings or local community data using visual methods, including infographics
